The station lies between the A89 (east/west) to the north and Devon View Street (west) to the south. Broomknoll Street (north) and Cairnhill Road (south) run along the east boundary of the station. We understand that the name of this north/south road changes at the crossing just outside the main entrance.
Broomknoll Street continues across the A89 via a roundabout junction, into the town centre.
There are six entrances/exits to this station:
From Broomknoll Street, just south of the roundabout, you go up a slight slope, leading west, past covered bike racks on the south side then you cross the path, leading south from the pavement of the A89. From here you can turn left (south) for the steps, or continue (west) up the ramp.
You go up four steps, going south. Turn right (west), go up nine then nine steps, going west. Turn left (south) and go up five steps, going south, onto platform 3, near the east end. There is tactile paving at the top and bottom of these steps, which have a hand rail to each side.
The ramp continues west. turn left (south) at the top onto platform 3, a few metres east of the steps to the bridge.
From the A89, you go up nine then nine steps, going south onto the platform, just east of the foot of the steps to the bridge. There’s a hand rail to each side of these steps and tactile paving at the top and bottom.
From the pavement on the south side of the A89 you take the turning south then left east and follow the ramp to the top. The door to the lift is in front of you, turn right (south) onto the platform, west of the middle.
This is the original main entrance to the station. From the west side of Cairnhill Road/Broomknoll Street, you go up a very steep ramp, going west, with a hand rail to each side, into the ticket office. As you reach the car park, after a few metres, you can turn right (west) then right again (north) for the steps to platforms 1 - 2. You go up eight steps, going north then continue, past the end of track 1, before turning left (west) and going up the slope onto platform 1. For platform 2, continue, past the ticket office then take the turning right to platform 2.There's tactile paving at the top and bottom of these steps and a hand rail to each side. There's a hand rail to each side of the slight slope across the end of track 1, then a hand rail on your right only, as you go up towards the platform.
There's level access from the north side of Devon View Street into the car park. You can continue north, across the car park, the disabled persons bays are along the north side, between the foot of the steps (east) and the ramp (west) to platforms 1 - 2.
The steps are the ones mentioned above. To use the ramp, follow the north side, going west then turn right (180 degrees) and go up the slope, there's a hand rail to each side.
