Location

The station is on the east side of the dry dock portion of the marina, which extends south to Harbour Road. Harbour Road runs east from the water front to Princes Street (south).

The Caledonian MacBrayne ferry terminal lies about northeast of the station, being reached via a partially covered walkway.

Entrances and Exits

Strictly speaking, there is one entrance/exit to the station, which leads south, off the end of the walkway from the ferry, onto the platform. For the sake of this guide, however, we will count the exit from the ferry terminal and the beginning of the walkway from Harbour Road as entrances/exits to this station. Each provides step-free access to/from the platform.

Local Road Crossings

The only pedestrian controlled crossings within the scope of this guide are at the junction of Princes Street (south), Harbour Road (west), Glasgow Road (northeast) and Arran Place (north). This junction has tactile paving throughout and a sounder.

Only the crossings of Harbour Road and Princes street lie within the scope of this guide.

West Arm, Harbour Road

This is a single-stage crossing. The posts with push button and rotating cone are west of the crossing, that is to your right as you cross away from the station, or to your left as you cross towards it.

South Arm, Princes Street

This is a two-stage crossing with a central island. On the west crossing, the posts with push button and rotating cone are south of the crossing, that is to your right as you cross towards the island, to your left as you cross from it. On the east crossing, the posts with push button and rotating cone are north of the crossing, that is to your right as you cross towards the island, or to your left as you cross from it.

From the crossing, continue south, past a post box on your right then over a dip in the pavement. Cross Hill Street (a quiet side street with no pedestrian crossing), then find the shelter on your right.

Bus Stop 6170415, Princes Street/Hill Street, serves:

The Route Between the Ferry and Princes Street

Leave the terminal building then take the left-hand path, which leads across the access road, to the covered walkway towards the station.

This walkway starts east then curves right then left so that you leave the walkway facing south.

Follow the railings on your right. You pass a normally closed gate to the dry dock - if this gate is open continue till the railings resume on your right.

You can continue, up a slight slope, into the station or turn back at the foot of the slope and follow the fence, which turns right then right again (south) into the walkway along the east side of the station.

Follow this walkway to the end then turn left into Harbour Road. You go up a slight slope before the pavement veers left. You're going round the north side of the roundabout outside the Asda store which is on the south side of Harbour Road.

Follow the pavement, across the entrance to the dry dock, which has an island in the middle. The pavement then veers right and left again onto the north side of Harbour Road.

Continue (east) to the main road, you've reached the junction with Princes Street (south) Glasgow road (northeast) and Arran Place (north).
