Describe Online

You would either reach this station from the ferry terminal or from Harbour Road. See the Environs page for details of the route between bus stops in Princes Street and the walkway from Harbour Road.

This is a single platform station which is the terminus of a single track line. There is no tactile paving along the edge of the platform.

From Which Entrance?

  From the Ferry Terminal
From Harbour Road

From the Ferry Terminal

Please note that staff are willing to escort you from the ferry terminal to the station. Note also that the trains and ferries adhere to their timetables and one will not wait for the other in the event of delay.

Leave the ferry building, turn left and follow the path, there is gravel to each side of this path. Cross the access road then continue into the covered walkway. This walkway curves so that you effectively turn right before you reach the far end.

Continue, following the railings on your right, past a normally closed gate to the dry dock. If this is open, continue straight across this open area, you should go between two fences. Follow the right-hand fence and continue up a slight slope. After a few metres, the fence on your left finishes and you're on the platform, beside the rear of the train.

Note that the turning left before the foot of the slope leads into the walkway towards Harbour Road.

From Harbour Road

As you go away from Princes Street, take the turning right into the walkway. If you find yourself on a level crossing, you've overshot the turning. Go back, follow the railings on your left then turn left into the first gap.

Follow this walkway, which turns left at the end. Having turned left, take the first turning left and continue up a slight slope. The railings on your left finish after a few metres, at which point you're on the platform, beside the rear of the train.
