Platforms 1 - 3

Describe Online

Overview

Platforms 1 and 2 are bay platforms with platform 1 being a separate platform along the northwest side of the station.

Platform 3 is a through platform, which is divided into platforms 3 north and 3 south. Platform 2 shares an island platform with platform 3 north.

We understand that platform 3 normally serves northbound trains towards Glasgow Central, however, we found a 2 and 4 car stop sign towards the southwest end of the platform which suggests that this platform is sometimes used bi-directionally.

The ends of tracks 1 and 2 are a few metres northeast of the concourse, whilst platform 3 continues along the southeast side of the building. The steps to the bridge to platform 4 are near the east corner of the building.

There is tactile paving along the edge of platform 1, but none on platform 2 or 3.

To Reach

There is level access from the concourse via automatic doors. There's a set of doors opposite the beginning of platform 1 and another opposite the beginning of platform 2. A third set of doors, from the southeast side of the concourse, leads directly onto platform 3, turn left for the steps to the bridge.

There is also stairs access from platform 4 via the bridge.
