This is a through station on the North Clyde Line, between Glasgow Queen Street (Low Level), Dalmuir, Helensburgh Central and Milngavie.
Note that eastbound services continue towards Edinburgh and Springburn.
The tracks run approximately east/west between separate platforms with platform 1, eastbound towards Edinburgh and Springburn lying north of platform 2, westbound towards Dalmuir, Helensburgh and Milngavie.
The platforms are at the lower level. The ticket office, at the upper (street) level can be reached via lift from each platform or via 56 steps.
The ticket office is a T-shaped space of which the leg runs east, past the original sales window and shop, towards the stairs to each platform. The cross passage, just inside the entrance, runs north/south between the lifts. A new ticket sales window, with variable height counter and induction loop has been installed opposite the right-hand (south) entrance.
This station is now gated. There's a bi-directional Wide Aisle Gate between the ticket office and each lift. There's also a gate line across the beginning (west end) of the main passage.
There is stairs and lift access through this station and step-free access between Elm Bank Gardens and the ticket office. We therefore believe the station is accessible to Guide Dog and wheelchair users.
