Lines Served

This is a through station on the North Clyde Line between Edinburgh and Helensburgh Central. The station also serves trains from Lanark via Yoker, Larkhall via Singer and services to Balloch.

Layout

The tracks run approximately east/west serving five platforms numbered 1 to 5 from the south. Platform 1 is a separate platform, whilst 2 - 3 and 4 - 5 are islands. Platforms 1 to 4 are through platforms, we understand that 1 and 3 serve westbound trains towards Balloch and Helensburgh, whilst 2 and 4 serve eastbound trains to Glasgow Queen Street and beyond. Platform 5 is a terminus platform.

Platforms 1 and 2 are at a slightly higher level than platforms 3 to 5, so the island platform 2 - 3 is split-level, with the station approach road lying north of platform 2.

A bridge, towards the west end of the station, provides stairs or lift access between platforms.

The ticket office is on platform2, just east of the bridge.

Accessibility

There is ramp, lift and stairs access through this station. We therefore believe the station is accessible to Guide Dog and wheelchair usres.
