From the North Bridge

Descend 11 then 11 steps, going east onto the platform. You're by the front door of the rear carriage of the departing train on platform 8. Platform 7 starts some distance east of here, see below. The steps are divided into two sets by a central rail, though we found no indication of which is the preferred side.

Taking the left-hand of the four sets of steps from the main bridge, go down 11 then 12 steps to platform level and turn left into the Passage to platforms 7 and 8.

From the Foot of the Steps from the North Bridge

The foot of the steps from the bridge is to the north side of the island, i.e. on platform 8, a few metres east of the London Underground assistance office.

There's a wall on the south side, with a passage to platforms 5 and 6. This wall continues (east) with:

There's a blank door in the east end of the wall. The island platform 7 and 8 starts here. A metal rail runs along the edge of platform 7 for about 10 metres, to the rear of the departing train.
