FIND AN EXIT FROM A PLATFORM

DESCRIBE ONLINE

Overview

There is level access to the north car park from platform 1, eastbound, directly to the car park or via the ticket office.

There is a stepped entrance to Grahams Road, another stepped entrance to the Behar car park and ramp access (up a short steep ramp) to the south car park from platform 2, westbound.

See the Environs page for details of routes from the car parks.

We'll assume that you'll leave the station from the appropriate side of the tracks, as the road distances between exits is quite short. See the Change Platforms page for details of routes between platforms via the bridge or the local street network.

The doors will open on your left as you face the front of the train. There is no tactile paving along the edge of either platform.

From Which Platform?

  From Platform 1, Eastbound
From Platform 2, Westbound

From Platform 1, Eastbound

As you go from the front of six car trains, you pass a building, not for public use, then the three car stop before you reach the first gap to the car park. Beyond this is the ticket office building, the exit is the third door on your right. The second gap is beyond this. We understand that two car trains will stop so that the front of the train is near the first exit.

As you go from the rear of six car trains, you'll pass the steps to the bridge, followed by an area with bike racks and planters before you reach the second exit. The ticket office building is just beyond this, the exit is the first door on your left, there are two more doors beyond this. The first exit is just beyond the ticket office building.

From the First Exit

Leave the platform and continue to the pavement. You can turn left, to the exit from the ticket office, for the taxi pick-up, or turn right for the ramp or steps to Grahams Road.

Via the Ticket Office

Go through the automatic door. The kiosk is in front of you, so bear right to avoid this and continue through the automatic door on the opposite side of the ticket office. Note that you go into a short lobby, with no door on the near side, before you reach the exit. Go through the automatic door onto the pavement. The taxi pick-up point is in front of you, turn right for the ramp or steps to Grahams Road.

Via the Second Exit

Leave the platform, following the building on your right. The wall veers right then right again to the exit from the ticket office. The taxi pick-up point is to your left, you can continue forward for the ramp or steps to Grahams Road.

GO TO END

From Platform 2, Westbound

As you go from the front of six and three car trains, you pass the steps to the Behar car park then, follow the wall on your right, which retreats to your right, before you reach the steps to the bridge. Continue, between the steps to the bridge, on your left and the bike lockers/racks to your right. You pass the waiting room before you reach the exit to the south car park.

We understand that two car trains stop so that the front of the train is just beyond the steps to the bridge, you can continue forward for the steps to the Behar car park, or turn back, beyond the waiting room for the exit to the south car park.

We believe the stepped exit to Grahams Road is beyond the rear of the trains.

As you go from the rear of six car trains, you pass the exit to the south car park. We understand that the rear of three and two car trains is near this exit. You can continue, past the steps to the bridge, on your right and the bike racks/lockers on your left. The wall juts out beyond the rear of the steps. Continue, following the wall on your left, for the steps to the Behar car park.

To the Behar Car Park

You go up four steps, which are divided by a central rail, into the car park.

Into the South Car Park

You go up a short ramp, into the car park. You can follow the pavement to your right then left and continue towards Garrison Place. There's a taxi rank to your left before you reach the entrance to the Behar car park, on your right.

To Grahams Road

Going away from the front of the train, follow the wall on your right. Note that the left-hand half of the platform extends beyond the foot of the walkway. You go up a ramp, then up 19 widely spaced, ramped steps onto the pavement.
