The station is located on the south side of a vehicle turning circle from High Station Road, which leads south, up the hill, to the station. High Station Road turns left (east) here, through a housing development, to a cul de sac from which there is stairs access to platform 1 and to Slamannan Road, which runs north/south above the east end of the platforms.
There are three entrances/exits to this station:
There's level access from the pavement off the forecourt to either side of the ticket office and through the ticket office itself. You go into the ticket office via the ramp leading east, continue through the door in front of you then turn right, towards the ticket sales windows. Bear right, round these then leave via the door on your left, onto the platform, facing east.
From the west side of Slamannan Road, just north of the bridge over the tracks, you go down nine steps, going west into the cul de sac off the end of High Station Road. Follow the left-hand side, take the turning left then go down 14 steps, going south, to platform level. There's tactile paving beyond the foot of these steps, followed by gates which can close this entrance. Note, there's a metal rail along the middle of the platform, in front of you, you're beyond the front of the train.
Go into the car park and continue (west), there are six lanes of cars. You should be in the second aisle from the left (south). Continue (west) and go down a ramp with fences each side. The slope levels out at a T-junction with the ramp to the left ( south) and steps to the right (north). If you turn right (north), you go down 11 steps, going north then turn left (west) and go down 14 steps, going west. Turn left (south), up a slope, past the foot of the ramp and continue into the subway going south. Turn right (west) then left (south) and left again (east), then continue (eas), up the ramp, railings each side. You pass a temporary hut on your right (this may be an additional ticket office). at the top of the ramp, turn left (north) onto the west end of platform 2, westbound.
We found no pedestrian controlled crossings within the scope of our survey.
High Station Road seemed relatively quiet at the time of our survey, as did the entrance/exit to the car park.
Slamannan Road is a busy main road with no pavement on the east side north of the bridge. If you need a bus towards Limerigg Turning Circle, we suggest you turn right from the top of the steps and go over the bridge before attempting to cross Slamannan Road.
The bus stop east of the main entrance, serves no scheduled services and the information provided isn't very meaningful to vision impaired people. We therefore suggest you get a taxi.
There's a bus stop a few metres left (north) of the steps from High Station Road. Unfortunately, there was no information about bus services at the time of our survey.
We suggest you cross the railway bridge before attempting to cross this busy road. There's a bus stop just south of the bridge serving buses to Limerigg Turning Circle. Unfortunately, we found no more information about these services at the time of our survey.
The drop-off point is west of the main entrance, turn left and follow the right-hand side for the station entrance.
The pick-up point is beyond the entrance to the car park, turn left from the main entrance and follow the pavement round to your right, across the first road (the car park entrance), then the second (the car park exit), the pick-up point is to your right.
The station forecourt is effectively a turning circle for taxis at the end of High Station Road. There’s a large lamp post in the middle of this space.
The entrance and exit to the car park are off the west side of the turning circle.
