FIND AN EXIT FROM A PLATFORM
There are step-free exits from platform 1, eastbound, beside or through the ticket office. the step-free exit from platform 2, westbound is beyond the front of the train, you can continue along a path which runs west, beyond the scope of our survey, or go through the subway which leads under the trakcs, towards the car parpk. See the environs page for details of the subway.
There's a stairs-only exit from platform 1, to the cul de sac at the end of High Station Road and then onto Slamannan Road. See the Environs page for details of this exit.
There is stairs-only access from platform 2 onto platform 1 via the bridge. These directions are confined to this route. Note that the foot of the steps is in the middle of the platform, so you can pass to either side of the steps as you walk along the platform. note also that you can walk underneath these steps when moving towards the front of the train.
The doors will open on your left as you face the front of the train. There is tactile paving along the edge of the platforms.
The steps to the bridge are about in the middle of the platform, which we believe is towards the rear of most trains. If you leave from the front of the train, go towards the rear, following the right-hand side past the waiting room. The foot of the steps is just beyond the waiting room building.
You go up a flight of steps, turn left then go up another flight of steps onto the bridge. Continue, over the slightly hump-backed bridge, then down a flight of steps. Turn left and go down another flight of steps to platform level. You're about in the middle of platform 1.
The exits to the forecourt are towards the rear of the train, you can go down a slight ramp to either side of the ticket office building, into the forecourt. From here you can turn left and follow the pavement round to your right towards the taxi pick-up point.
From the front of the train, get off the train and turn left. It may be better to follow the inside of the tactile paving until you've past the steps to the bridge, as you can walk underneath these. The wall to the ticket office juts out considerably from the right with the entrance door in front of you. You can take the turning right before this, into the forecourt.
From the rear of the train, turn right, you can turn left before the ticket office building, which juts out in front of you, or follow the building then turn left (180 degrees) at the end, the entrance door is in front of you.
Having gone into the ticket office, turn right, take the turning right into the entrance area then turn left (180 degrees) and go through the door in front of you. You then go down the ramp into the forecourt. From here, you can follow the pavement round to your right, across the car park entrance and exit, before you reach the taxi pick-up point.
