This is the terminus of the C2C line to Southend and Shoeburyness.
The station is established on two levels, which we'll call the platform and street levels.
Each entrance leads into a small concourse at street level. That inside the main entrance (from the west) will be referred to as the lower concourse, whilst that inside the tower entrance (from the south) will be called the tower concourse.
There are four platforms numbered 1 - 4 from the south. Platforms 1 - 2 and 3 - 4 are island platforms leading east from the rectangular, upper level concourse.
There is lift, escalator and stairs access between the lower and upper concourses, whilst there is stairs-only access between the tower concourse and each island platform via a subway, towards the east end of the platforms.
There is lift, escalator and stairs access via the main entrance and stairs-only access via the Tower entrance. We therefore believe the station is accessible to Guide Dog users, though only the main entrance is accessible to wheelchairs.
