GENERAL DESCRIPTION |
DESCRIBE ONLINE |
This is a through station on the North Clyde Line between Edinburgh, Balloch, Helensburgh Central or Milngavie.
The tracks run approximately east/west between separate platforms with platform 1, serving westbound trains towards Glasgow, Balloch, Helensburgh and Milngavie, lying south of platform 2, eastbound towards Airdrie and Edinburgh.
The tracks are at an intermediate level between street level (Barrachnie Crescent) and the bottom of the cutting (Glenduffhill Road).
A bridge, about in the middle of the station, at street level, leads from the main entrance to the ticket office and to each platform.
There is stairs and ramp access from Glenduffhill Road to platform 2, but stairs-only access to this platform from the bridge. There is stairs-only access to platform 1 from Glenduffhill Road and steep ramp access to this platform from the bridge.
We therefore believe the station is accessible to Guide Dog users, but only the eastbound platform 2 is accessible to wheelchairs as we believe the ramp from the bridge to platform 1 would be too steep.
