Overview

The upper level platforms, 1 - 7, lead north from the concourse, numbered from left to right as you face the gate line from within the concourse, whilst the lower level, platforms 8 - 9 are reached via stairs or lift.

Note that the east entrance, off the access road from North Hanover Street, only serves the lower level platforms.

To Platforms 1 - 7

Note that there's tactile paving along the edge of all upper level platforms.

If you need a ticket, follow the directions to the travel centre, leave the travel centre into the concourse then turn left towards the gate line. Go through the gates.

From the George Square Entrance

Go into the concourse, the gate line is in front of you. Go through the gates.

From the dundas Street Entrance

Go through the right-hand doors of the entrance, continue, past the travel centre on your left, into the concourse then turn left. The gate line is in front of you. Go through the gates.

From the North Hanover Street Entrance

Go through the doors, turn left into the passage, then turn right into the concourse then right again to face the gate line.

The gate line is divided into two sections by a central barrier with timetables. There's a manual gate to each side of this barrier and the entrances are generally adjacent to these, though the first gate on the left-hand side was an exit at the time of our survey.

The left-hand set of gates is opposite platforms 1 - 4, whilst the right-hand set is opposite platforms 5 - 7.

Note that, to reach platform 1, you go along platform 2 to the end of the building on your left then turn left beyond the railings.

To the Lower Level, Platforms 8 - 9

These platforms can be reached via steps from the Dundas Street or east entrance, or via lift from platform 7.

There is no tactile paving along the edge of these platforms, nor at the foot or top of the steps.

Via the Lift

See the lifts page for details of the two public lifts in this station.

We suggest you make your way to platform 7, via the concourse, as described above. As you move away from the concourse, along platform 7, the first recess on your right leads to the lift to platform 8, westbound, whilst the second leads to the lift to platform 9, eastbound. You arrive about in the middle of the platforms.
