THE LOWER LEVEL PLATFORMS, 8 - 9 |

This section of the station consists of two separate platforms running east/west with platform 8 westbound lying south of platform 9 eastbound.
These platforms can be reached from the west, just inside the Dundas Street entrance, from the east via the entrance off North Hanover Street, or via lifts from platform 7.
The east and west entrances define the effective ends of the platforms, whilst the lifts are about in the middle. There is no tactile paving along the edge of these platforms.
Go through the gates onto the west bridge. This is a rectangular space with:

Go down 16 then 17 steps, going east, to platform level. You’re near the front of the train. The steps are divided into two sections by a barrier with rails, keep right.
Go through the gates and continue onto the east bridge. The steps down to platform 8, westbound, are in front of you to your left, keep right then turn left for the eastbound, platform 9.
Go down ten steps, going north, turn left and go down 19 steps, going west to platform level. These steps are divided by a glass barrier and central rail, keep right. You're near the rear of the train.
Go down 15 then 14 steps, going west, to platform level. These steps are divided by a glass barrier and central rail, keep right. You're near the front of the train.
As you move away from the concourse, along platform 7, you pass the lift to the westbound, platform 8, then that for the eastbound, platform 9. See the lifts page for details. At platform level, you're about in the middle of the train.
