The FERRY TERMINAL

Describe Online

Overview

There's a path from platform 1, which leads east, north then east again to the Caledonian MacBrayne terminal building. We also noted Western Ferries, though this appeared to be closed at the time of our survey.

The Path to the Ferry Terminal

From the west, you can take the turning left, north, before the rail jutting out into the platform. At the time of our survey, this was behind the rear of three car trains arriving at this platform.

From the east, you find railings on your right, beyond the gravel area, then go round the end of this rail and take the turning left.

The path starts east then turns left (north), past the gated area towards the Western Ferries to Kilcreggan, which was closed at the time of our survey.

Continuing north, mesh fence to each side, turn right (east), wall now on right, metal fence on left. You pass the walkway leading left (north) towards the ferry, beyond which is the pull door, going east, into the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry terminal.

The Terminal Building

Continue, up a slight slope, through a second door going east, into the waiting area.

There's seating to the left (north) followed by the walkway leading north towards the ferry.
