This is a through station on the line between Paisley Gilmour Street and Glasgow Central (east) and Gourock (west).
There are two separate platforms in use at this station, running approximately northwest/southeast. The eastbound, platform 1 includes the ticket office building near the northwest end. A small car park including two disabled persons bays is on the northeast side of the platform. The southeast section of this platform shares an island with an unused bay platform along the northeast side of the station.
Platform 2, serving westbound trains toward Gourock is a separate platform along the southwest side of the station.
Terrace Road, above the northwest end of the station, provides step-free and stairs access to platform 2, but stairs-only access to platform 1. Step-free access to platform 1, is via Station Avenue, leading southwest from Cathcart Street.
There is step-free access to each platform from the local street network. We therefore believe the station is accessible to Guide Dog and wheelchair users.
