Find a platform from an entrance
There is ramp access to platform 1, westbound, from Kemp Street and stairs access from platform 2 via the bridge.
There is level access to platform 2, eastbound, from Station Road (either directly or through the ticket office) and the car park in Duke Street.
There is no tactile paving along the edge of either platform.
From Kemp Street|
From Station Road
From the Car Park
Follow the right-hand side of Kemp Street, going away from Gateside Street then take the turning right. This path curves to your right so that, as you reach platform level, you're facing along the platform in front of you. We believe you're beside the front of longer trains, but before the front of shorter ones. The 3 car stop sign is on the third post as you move away from the path.
GO TO END
The posts are along the middle of the platform, as are the steps to the bridge. You could, therefore, go to either side of these steps and overshoot them. Note, it's possible to walk underneath the back of these steps if you have to make your way back again, having overshot.
Fortunately, there's a distinct drainage channel along the platform, which should provide an excellent guide. Find the channel then continue, away from the path, keeping the channel on your right, to the foot of the steps, in front of you.
Go up a flight of steps, turn left then go up another flight onto the bridge. Continue, down a flight of steps then turn left and go down another flight onto platform 1.
We believe you're beside the front half of longer trains and about in the middle of shorter ones.
GO TO END
See the Environs page for more details.
You can go through the gap to your right of the building or through the ticket office.
If you go through the ticket office, the push button is to your left of the door. The sales window, with variable height counter and induction loop is to your left, continue forward, the push button is to your right of the door onto the platform.
Whichever route you choose, we believe you're about in the middle of longer trains or near the rear of shorter ones.
Turn left from either entrance and follow the left-hand side, the steps up to the bridge are in front of you. Go up a flight of steps, turn right, go up another flight then continue, down a flight of steps. Turn right then go down a flight of steps onto the platform. We believe you're beside the rear half of the train.
GO TO END
The walkway from the car park leads onto the end of platform 2, eastbound, near the front of the train.
Continue forward till you reach the foot of the steps which go up in the opposite direction. Note, you can walk underneath these steps, be careful!
As you reach the foot of the steps, turn right (180 degrees), go up a flight of steps, turn right, go up another flight then continue, down a flight of steps. Turn right then go down a flight of steps onto the platform. We believe you're beside the rear half of the train.
