FIND A PLATFORM FROM AN ENTRANCE
This station has a single island platform at which westbound trains towards terminals 4 and 5 use platform 1, whilst eastbound trains towards Paddington use platform 2.
There is tactile paving along the edge of each platform.
There are no ticket gates within this station as there is free transfer between terminals.
There is lift access from Terminal 1 beyond the front of eastbound (or rear of westbound) trains, whilst lift access from Terminal 3 is near the front of westbound )or rear of eastbound) services. There is also escalator access from Terminal 3, though we recommend you use the lifts as these offer simpler routes.
Terminal 2 was not available at the time of our survey, but we believe you should follow directions given below, via the lifts from Terminal 3.
Note that details of the terminals themselves lie beyond the scope of this survey.
From Terminal 1|
From Terminal 2
From Terminal 3
Go into the lifts signed "To Trains", as opposed to those signed "To the Underground". Go down to Trains Level, leave via the same door then tirn right and continue along the passage. You go through the luggage barriers before you reach the platforms. Turn right for eastbound trains to Paddington, you're near the front of the train, or left for westbound trains to Terminal 4 or 5, you're near the rear.
GO TO END
Terminal 2 was closed at the time of our survey, however, it looks as though you go into the main walkway, which runs through the Underground station and turn left. The passage veers slightly right before you reach the travellators. The left-hand travellator is normally the one you need, though there is a walkway along the middle of the passage.
On reaching the end of the first travellator, continue onto the second which brings you just short of the right turn towards the Terminal 3 entrance to the station.
Take the turning right, follow the passage, which turns left then continue to the lifts, in front of you. The call button (down) is to your right of the door to each lift. Go down to Level -1 (Trains) and leave via the same door. From here you can turn right for westbound trains to terminals 4 or 5, you're near the front of the train. turn left for eastbound trains towards Paddington, you're near the rear. Note that there's tactile paving across the entrance to each platform.
GO TO END
Details of the terminal itself lie beyond the scope of this survey.
Locate the lifts to trains. The call button (down) is to your right of the door to each lift. Go down to Level -1 (Trains). We understand you can leave these lifts via iether door.
Leave the lift and continue forward a couple of metres, if you find a wall in front of you, turn left for westbound trains towards terminals 4 or 5, you're near the front of the train. turn left for eastbound trains towards Padington, you're near the rear.
If you're facing along the passage, turn right for westbound trains to terminals 4 or 5, you're near the front of the train. turn left for eastbound trains towards Paddington, you're near the rear.
Note that there's tactile paving across the entrance to each platform.
