Location

The station is located to the north of Churchill Drive, just west of the point where it turns west, having run north from Hyndland Road and south of the Gartnavel hospital site.

The line is curving through this station, having run north through Partick, to running west towards Anniesland. For convenience, however, we'll consider directions along the line as east/west.

Entrances and Exits

There are three entrances/exits to this station:

Hyndland Road passes some distance from the station, beyond the scope of this survey.

Via the Bridge

From Churchill Drive

You leave the pavement between 126 and 132 Churchill Drive, going north. Follow the path, with walls to each side and lamp posts on the left, down the slight slope then take the turning left. There's a fence along the right-hand (north) side of the path, between the walkway and the tracks.

Continue,up the slope. The steps to the bridge are in front of you. Follow the left-hand side which retreats to your left then continues forward towards Lift 3.

From the Gartnavel Hospital Site

Follow the path which leads south past the Tom Weldon Building, to the T-junction and take the turning right. Note that the left turn leads down five stepss towards the subway.

There's a fence along the left-hand (south) side, between the walkway and the tracks. You can follow this path (west) to the foot of the steps to the bridge, in front of you, or follow the right-hand side which retreats north then continues west towards Lift 1.

Via the Subway

From Queensborough Gardens

You can approach the subway via the path leading southwest from Hayburn Lane, simply follow the path into the subway, there are rail timetables to either side as you reach the entrance to the subway. Continue to the end then turn right up two flights of steps onto the platform.

From the Gartnavel Hospital Site

Follow the path which leads south past the Tom Weldon Building to the T-junction and turn left (east). You bear right (southeast), go down five steps, going southeast, there's tactile paving at the top and bottom of these steps. Bear left again (east) then follow the path down the slope, through the station gates. You then go down 11 then 11 steps, going east then turn right into the subway.

Local Road Crossings

This survey is concerned with no significant roads. Churchill Drive, the route to the hospital and towards Hyndland Road are quiet roads.

We found no bus stops within the scope of this survey.
