Overview

There is stairs access between platforms via the bridge and a step-free route via the local road network, see the Environs page for details.

The doors will open on your left as you face the front of the train. There is tactile paving along the edge of each platform.

From Which Platform?

  From Platform 1, Eastbound
From Platform 2, Southbound

From Platform 1, Eastbound

As you go from the front of the train, you pass the station building and waiting area before you reach a mesh fence jutting out from the right, with a concrete post (ouch!) at the end. Turn right beyond this post, from here you can continue into the forecourt for the step-free route or turn left for the bridge.

As you come from the rear of the train, you reach the back of the steps to the bridge. Note you can walk underneath these steps, be careful! A mesh fence starts beside the steps, turn left beyond this. From here you can continue into the forecourt for the step-free route or turn left again for the bridge.

Via the Bridge

Follow the short path then go up a flight of steps, turn left and go up another flight onto the bridge. Continue, down a flight of steps, turn left and go down another flight then turn left onto platform 2. We believe you're about in the middle of the train.

GO TO END

Via the Step-Free Route

Continue beyond the wall of the station building on your right then turn right. Go past the entrance to the ticket office and turn left just before the step down, in front of you.

Continue, across an access road, to the main road, Thornbrae then turn right. Follow this road, which veers right, over the tracks. You can either take the first turning right and go down the steeper path to the platform, or take the second turning, Overton Road.

The First Path

You follow the path, with the hand rail on your right, to the bottom of the slope them move slightly right, onto the platform. You're behind the rear of the train.

GO TO END

Via Overton Road

Continue along Overton Road, then take the turning right into Springfield Park, numbers 1 - 19 should be in front of you. Take the first turning right then the first left and follow the path down the slope. The path veers slightly left then right again as you approach platform 2. The foot of the steps to the bridge are to your left, we believe you're about in the middle of the train.

GO TO END

From Platform 2, Southbound

As you go from the front of the train, you reach the back of the steps to the bridge, note you can walk underneath these steps, be careful!

If you want the shorter, but steeper, step-free route, continue to the end of the platform, otherwise continue to the foot of the steps then turn right. From here you can turn right again for the steps, or continue forward for the step-free route through Springfield Park.

As you go from the rear of the train, you can turn left for the shorter, steeper, step-free route, or turn right and continue, past the waiting area to the foot of the steps to the bridge then turn left. From here, you can turn right again for the steps, or continue forward for the step-free route through Springfield Park.

For the Steeper, Route

From the end of the platform, move slightly right then continue up the slope, there's a hand rail on your left. Turn left at the top, you're now on Thornbrae, follow the pavement, which veers left before you reach the approach road to the station. Turn left, here, cross an access road then continue to the station building, in front of you. Turn right and either go through the door on your left, into the ticket office, or turn left beyond the end of the building and continue beyond the end of the mesh fence on your left onto the platform. We believe you're beside the rear half of shorter trains and about in the middle of longer ones.

If you go into the ticket office, the ticket sales windows, with variable height counter and induction loop are to your right. The door to platform 1 is at the left-hand end of the far wall. Go through this door onto the platform, we believe you're beside the front half of the train.

GO TO END

Via Springfield Park

Follow the path, which veers left then right again, up the slope, before you reach the Springfield Park housing development. Turn right then take the first turning left and turn left again, onto Overton Road. Follow the left-hand side to the main road, Thornbrae, then turn left. You pass the steeper path to platform 2 on your left. Follow the pavement, which veers left before you reach the approach road to the station.

GO TO END

Via the Bridge

Go up a flight of steps, turn right then go up another flight onto the bridge. Continue, down a flight of steps, turn right then go down another flight and continue beyond the mesh fence on your right before turning right onto the platform. We believe you're beside the rear half of shorter trains, or about in the middle of longer ones.
