The station building is at ground level, just south of the flyover which carries Great Western Road over the river Kelvin and to the east of the river itself.
The station has two entrances. The main entrance is reached via escalators from the south side of Great Western Road, whilst the other entrance is at ground level, leading north into the booking hall from a forecourt to the west of South Woodside Road.
There are steps down from the south side of Great Western Road, one to the east, the other some distance to the west, beyond the scope of this survey.
East of the main entrance, a path with ornate metal sides leads south, down 19 then 22 steps onto the east side of South Woodside Road. South Woodside Road continues a few metres north to the bridge, before being blocked to traffic and continuing as a walkway under Great Western Road, into South Woodside.
To reach the station, turn right (west) from the foot of the steps and cross South Woodside Road. This brings you into the north side of a paved forecourt which lies east of the station building and north of the extensive park and ride car park. The gap in the right-hand north wall of the forecourt leads north into the booking hall. The wall of the station building juts out south, beyond this gap.
We found no pedestrian controlled crossings within the scope of this survey, but note you can cross Great Western Road via the underpass which is the continuation of South Woodside Road. Our survey did not include the northern end of this underpass.
We found no bus stops within the scope of this survey.
It is possible to follow the path beyond the station building, over the river and up onto Great Western Road; or turn right and go round the station building itself. Apart from being a pleasant area of parkland beside the river, we found no features of interest within the scope of our survey, except The tourist information board in the forecourt, outside the entrance, about five metres south of the building.
