Overview

There is lift and stairs access to each platform from the east forecourt. There is also ramp access to platform 1 from the east forecourt plus ramp and stepped access to platform 2 from the west forecourt.

The subway, which provides access to platform 2 from the east forecourt, is near the north end of the station, that is near the front of northbound trains.

There is tactile paving along the edge of each platform.

As you face the main building, the ramp to platform 1 is to your left of the building, the ticket office juts out towards you with the entrance towards the right-hand end, whilst the recesses to the lift and subway are to your right of the ticket office.

Note that the gate to this ramp is sometimes locked, so it may be easier to use the lift.

Go to the wall of the main building, turn left and follow the wall on your right, which retreats right before continuing towards the ramp.

Go up the slope, turn right (180 degrees) then go up a short slope to the next left turning. Turn left (180 degrees), go up the slope then turn right (180 degrees) and continue up the slope to platform level.

The gate to the platform is on your left, go through this gate onto the platform, we believe you're beside the rear half of the train.

If the gate is locked, continue, forward, up a slight slope to the door in front of you and press the assistance button which is to your right of the door.

To Platform 1 Via the Stairs

As you go through the automatic doors into the ticket office, the sales windows are to your left and the stairs are in front of you. You go up eight steps, turn left (180 degrees) then go up eight more steps, to platform level.

From here, you can turn right (180 degrees) and continue, through the automatic doors, onto the platform. Otherwise, you could turn left then follow the rail round to your left and continue, through automatic doors, onto the platform. We believe you're near the rear of the train.

To Platform 1 Via the Lift

Go to the wall of the main building, turn right and follow the wall round to your left, then right again. Take the first turning left, which is into the recess to the lift. The lift door is on your right, at the end of this recess, with the call button to your right of the door as you face the lift.

Go up to platform level, leave via the same doors then turn right, onto the platform. We believe you're near the rear of the train.

To Platform 2 Via the Stairs

Go to the wall of the main building, turn right and follow the wall left then right again. Continue, past the recess to the lift then take the next turning left, into the subway. Continue to the end then turn left and go up two flights of steps to platform level. Turn left and continue onto the platform. We believe you're beside the front half of the train.

To Platform 2 Via the Lift

Go to the wall of the main building, turn right and follow the wall left then right again and continue, past the recess to the lift to platform 1, then take the next turning left into the subway.

Go to the end, then move right, the lift door is in front of you with the call button to your right of the door.

Go up to platform level and leave via the same doors, onto the platform. We believe you're near the front of the train.

From the West Forecourt

As you face the station building, the first door from the right is the stepped entrance to platform 2, whilst the ramp is beyond the left-hand end of the building.

Go to the wall of the building, or steps, in front of you, turn left then continue beyond the building and take the turning right, up a slight slope onto the platform. We believe you're near the front of the train.

To Platform 2 Via the Steps

Go up the three steps in front of you, through the automatic doors then continue, past the wall of the waiting room on your right, onto the platform. We believe you're beside the front half of the train.

Note that to the left of the entrance is an area with blank doors to which you go up four steps from either end.

To Platform 1 Via the Stairs

Go up the three steps in front of you, then through the automatic doors.

Take the turning left, go down two flights of steps, into the subway and turn right. Continue to the end of the subway, turn right, continue to the wall in front of you then follow this to your left then right again. The entrance to the ticket office is the first entrance on your right, go through the automatic doors.

The ticket sales windows are to your left, whilst the stairs are in front of you. You go up eight steps, turn left (180 degrees) then go up eight steps to platform level.

From here, you can turn right (180 degrees) and continue, through automatic doors, onto the platform. Otherwise, you could turn left, follow the rail on your left to the left then continue through automatic dorrs onto the platform. We believe you're near the rear of the train.

To Platform 1 Via the Lifts

You need to get onto platform 2 via the ramp then use the lift to the subway.

Go to the wall, or steps, in front of you then turn left, continue beyond the building then take the turning right, up a slight slope, onto platform 2.

Turn right, continue, past the toilet, then turn right into the recess to the lift. The lift door is in front of you, with the call button to your right of the door.

Go down to subway level, leave via the same door, then move right before continuing to the end of the subway.

Turn right, then take the first turning right, into the recess to the lift to platform 1. The lift door is on your right, at the end, with the call button to your right of the door as you face the lift.

Go up to platform level, leave via the same doors then turn right onto the platform. We believe you're near the rear of the train.
