Overview

Note that there are RNIB REACT beacons in this station, intended to help you find the exits. See the detailed descriptions of platform 1 and platform 2 for details.

We describe the step-free route via Auchinloch Road, as well as the stairs route via the bridge. See the Environs page for details of this road and the footpath.

The doors will open on your left as you face the front of the train. There is tactile paving along the edge of each platform.

From Which Platform?

From Platform 1, Eastbound

You need to find the exit, which is about in the middle of the platform. The waiting room is towards the front of the train, from the exit, whilst the steps of the bridge are towards the rear. Note that you can walk underneath the steps, so be careful if you're approaching from the rear of the train. There's an RNIB REACT beacon between the waiting room and the exit.

Having found the exit, you can continue, down a slight slope onto the pavement of the approach road to the car park, the bus stop is to your right. alternatively, you can take the turning left towards the bridge.

Via the Bridge

If you turn left, you continue along a short path before going up a flight of steps. Turn left at the top then go up another flight of steps onto the bridge. Continue, down a flight of steps then turn left and go down another flight of steps to platform level. Follow the fence on your left and go through the gap onto the platform, you're about in the middle of the train.

GO TO END

The Step-Free Route

Continue onto the pavement, turn right and follow the pavement left then right and then take the turning right into Auchinloch Road.

Continue, down the slope, there's a hand rail on your right. You go under the railway bridge, before you reach the turning right, which is the footpath. Turn right and follow this path, up the slope. As you reach the top you'll find the gap in the fence on your right, which is the entrance, go through this.

From here, you can turn right and go up the slope into the ticket office or continue onto the platform, about in the middle of the train.

GO TO END

From Platform 2, Westbound

You need to find the exit, which is about in the middle of the platform, between the ticket office, towards the rear of the train and the steps to the bridge, which are towards the front, from the entrance.

Note that you can walk underneath the steps to the bridge, so be careful when approaching from the front of the train.

We were surprised not to find an RNIB REACT beacon beside the exit, we shall revisit this shortly.

Having found the exit, continue down a slight slope, onto the path between the ticket office and the bridge. You can turn right here for the bridge, or continue onto the footpath.
