This is a through station on the lines between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh, Alloa and Dunblane.
The tracks run east/west serving separate platforms. Platform 1, eastbound towards Stirling, Alloa, Dunblane and Edinburgh, lies north of platform 2, westbound towards Glasgow Queen Street.
There's a step-free entrance to each platform, about in the middle, though we presume the main entrance is from the footpath onto platform 2, where the ticket office is located.
A bridge joins the platforms, a few metres west of the step-free entrances. Although there is stairs-only access via the bridge, there is a step-free route between platforms via Auchinloch Road, see the Environs page for details.
There is step-free and stairs access throughout this station. We therefore believe the station is accessible to Guide Dog and wheelchair users.
There are RNIB REACT beacons near the entrances/exits and near the end of each platform. See the detailed descriptions of platform 1 and platform 2 for details.
