GENERAL DESCRIPTION |
DESCRIBE ONLINE |
This is a through station on the line from Edinburgh towards Glasgow Queen Street, or the north via Larbert.
The ticket office is open 06:00 – 23:00 Monday to Saturday, 08:15 – 23:00 on Sunday.
The station is established on two levels. The ticket office level is slightly above street level, whilst the platforms are on a raised viaduct running east/west.
There are two separate platforms with platform 1, eastbound lying north of platform 2, westbound.
The ticket office level consists of the rectangular ticket office with a passage extending east towards the lift and step-free entrance from the forecourt. A subway extends south from the ticket office, giving stairs-only access from here to platform 2, though a lift is under consideration.
There is stairs access to platform 1 via steps from the west end of the ticket office, and lift access from the passage extending east.
There is stairs access through this station plus lift access to platform 1, eastbound. There is step-free access to platform 2, westbound via the car park.
We therefore believe this station is accessible to Guide Dog and wheelchair users, though the route between the ticket office and platform 2 is via the local road network.
