Location

This station lies about 100 metres west of Cathcart Road (north/south), between Prospecthill Road (east/west) to the north and Battlefield Road (northeast/southwest) some distance to the south.

McLennan Street is the next street leading west from Cathcart Road, as you go south from Prospecthill Road. The station actually lies to the west of Florida Drive which runs south from McLennan Street (east/west). Note that McLennan Street does not cross the trakcs.

Entrances and Exits

There are five entrances/exits to this station:

From Prospecthill Road onto the North Bridge

From Cathcart Road, follow the left-hand side of Prospecthill Road and take the first turning left. This road is used as a temporary car park.

As you follow the left-hand (east) side, the wall retreats left (east) leaving an open area which you can cross diagonally towards the north bridge. You could follow the wall left then right then take the turning left onto the north bridge. The entrance is on your right, from the middle of this bridge.

From the Junction of McLennan Street and Florida Drive onto the North Bridge

As you leave Cathcart Road on McLennan Street, continue on the right-hand (north) side. You go through a normally open gate then down eight then 12 steps, going west, onto the north bridge. These steps are divided by a central rail. The entrance is on your left, in the middle of this bridge.

From Florida Drive onto the South Bridge

On the west side of Florida Drive, opposite Bolton Drive, there's a metal rail along the middle of the pavement, outside the entrance. Turn west, through a normally open gate then go down 18 then 15 steps, going west, onto the south bridge. Turn right (north) for the steps down to the platforms.

From Langside College onto the South Bridge

Details of Langside College lie beyond the scope of this survey. You go through normally open gates, going east then down ten then ten steps, going east, onto the south bridge. There's tactile paving at the bottom, but none at the top of these steps. Turn left (north) for the steps down to the platforms.

From Battlefield Road onto the South Bridge

From the northwest side of Battlefield Road, opposite Brisbane Street, you go up ten then 11 steps, going northwest, onto the path. Continue, up the hill. The path veers right (north) before you go through normally open gates onto the south bridge. Turn right then take the turning left for the steps down to the platforms.

Local Road Crossings

The Junction of Cathcart Road (North/South), Prospecthill Road (West) and Hamden Terrace (East)

West Arm, Prospecthill Road

This is a single-stage crossing with tactile paving. The posts, with push button and rotating cone are west of the crossing, that is to your left as you cross away from the station, to your right as you cross towards it.

South Arm, Cathcart Road

This is a single-stage crossing with tactile paving. The post with push button and rotating cone is to your right as you cross in either direction.

East Arm, Hamden Terrace

This appears to be a two-stage crossing, with tactile paving throughout, via a central island, though the south arm of this road had little traffic at the time of our survey. There was no control post from the south pavement, though there was a post with push button and rotating cone on the island, which would be to your left as you crossed to the south. On the island, turn right then left for the main crossing. The posts, with push button and rotating cone are east of the crossing, that is to your right as you cross to the north, or left as you cross to the south.

This is a single-stage crossing with tactile paving. The post with push button and rotating cone is to your right as you cross in either direction.

There is no formal crossing of this road at either entrance, though this appeared to be a relatively quiet street at the time of our survey. Traffic flows one way, north.
