This is a through station on the line from Lanark, Larkhall and Motherwell towards Glasgow Central. Trains to Glasgow Central can either go through Cathcart and Queenspark or Langside and Shawlands.
The tracks run approximately east/west between separate platforms with platform 1, lying south of platform 2.
Platform 1 is bi-directional, serving westbound trains to Glasgow Central and eastbound services to Lanark and Motherwell, plus the occasional Larkhall train. Platform 2, serves some eastbound trains.
There is step-free access from the car park to platform 1. There is lift and stairs access between platforms via the bridge at the east end of the station.
A subway, under the west half of the station provides stairs access to each platform.
The ticket office is on platform 1, between the entrance and the bridge.
There is step-free access from the car park onto platform 1 plus lift and stairs access between platforms via the bridge. We therefore believe this station is accessible to Guide Dog and wheelchair users.
