Special Notice

Note that, from 13 December 2009, you're advised to use platform 16 of the Mainline Station for eastbound journeys on the Circle Line. Trains serving platform 2 of the Underground Station will terminate at Edgware Road and return via platform 1, so you'd need to change trains at Edgware Road to continue your journey. Note that the change at Edgware Road is much easier than the change between the Underground Station and platform 16 at Paddington so, unless you're already in the Mainline Station, we suggest you change at Edgware Road. See our guide to Edgware Road Station for details.

Station Entrances

The main entrance is on platform 1, together with the entrance via Station Reception and First Aid, plus the entrance from the car park. Another entrance, reaches the concourse via a passage, whilst a fifth is via the refreshments area. All these are on the southwest (platform 1) side of the station.

The entrance via the slip way from Praed Street is opposite platform 10, whilst entrances from the London Underground, Bakerloo, Circle and District lines are opposite platforms 5 and 11-12.

The Northeast entrance reaches the bridge, near the top of the ramp from platform 9. This is the only entrance to the London Underground Hammersmith & City Line which you can use without going through the mainline station.

Ticket Sales

The main ticket sales office is on the southwest (platform 1) side of the main concourse. There are several doors into this area, on your left as you move away from the refreshments area.

There are ticket sales windows in the left-hand (southwest) side of the building opposite the entrance from the slip way from Praed Street, opposite platform 10.

There are ticket sales windows for the Heathrow Express service in the building opposite the tracks for platforms 5 and 6, facing away from the platforms.

There are also ticket sales windows on the link way between the main and small bridges, to your left as you approach the London Underground, Hammersmith & City Line.

Note that, since our original survey, platforms 10 - 12 have been included in the gated area. Details of the gate line within the concourse lie beyond the scope of our London Underground survey of 2008.

Assistance

People requiring assistance are advised to go to the Station Reception and First Aid office on platform 1. As you enter via the main entrance, turn right, pass the door to British Transport Police, a kiosk and the steps down to the gents toilets. Go through the door, the reception desk is in front of you.

Alternatively, you can request assistance via the Assistance phones on this station.

The First Great Western customer reception is in the building opposite the tracks to platforms 3 and 4, the entrance is in the side furthest from the platforms.

The Heathrow Express information desks are in the building opposite the tracks for platforms 5 and 6, in the side furthest away from the platforms.

There are help pointsd within the London Underground, Hammersmith & City Line part of the station; one at the end of the small bridge and two on each platform.

Visit our Facilities page for other services of interest.

To The Platforms

You can reach platforms 1 - 12 directly from the concourse. Note that the tracks for platforms 11 and 12 extend some distance beyond those of platforms 1 to 9. We recommend that, to reach platform 12, you cross the concourse, turn left and follow the concourse round to the left-hand (northeast) side, before turning left onto the platform.
