Overview

There is level access at each exit plus stairs and lift access from each platform. See the lifts page for details of lifts in this station.

The platform usage is as follows:

1. The eastbound Inverclyde line to Hillington West, Hillington East, Cardonald and Glasgow Central.
2. The westbound Inverclyde line towards Gourock or Wemys Bay.
3. The eastbound Ayrshire Line to Glasgow Central.
4. The westbound Ayrshire line towards Ardrossan, Ayr, Girvan, Largs, etc.

There is tactile paving along the edge of each platform.

The doors will open on your left as you face the front of the train.

From Which Platform?

From Platform 1

As you move from the front of the train, you pass what we believe was a former waiting room, before you pass a series of benches then the steps to the intermediate level. The lift is in the waiting room beyond the steps. There's a help point on the wall before the bench nearest the top of the steps.

Via Which Route?

Via the Lift

We believe the lift may be behind the rear of shorter trains. From the front of the train, go past the stairwell then through the second door in the building on your right and turn right. The lift door is in front of you, the call button is to your left of the door.

Go to the lower level and leave the lift via the other doors.

For the Main Exit

Turn right and continue to the end of the passage. From here, you can go up the three steps in front of you into the ticket office and continue, through the exit into County Square. Otherwise, take the turning left, up the first slope of the ramp then turn right (180 degrees) and go up the second slope into the ticket office. Turn left then continue through the exit doors into County Square.

For the Old Sneddon Street Exit

Turn left and go through the doors onto the pavement, turn right for the bus stop for the Airport Bus Link.

Via the Steps

We believe the top of the steps is beside the rear half of shorter trains. You go down three flights of steps, towards the rear of the train, into the intermediate level. Note that there's no central rail on the third flight.

For the Main Exit

Turn left and continue to the end of the passage then take the turning left. Take the turning right, down a flight of steps to street level. At the time of our survey, the doors in front of you were not in use. Turn right, go through the open doorway into the ticket office then turn left, through the doors into County Square.

To the Old Sneddon Street Exit

Turn left then take the first turning left, down two flights of steps to street level. Turn left at the bottom and continue, through the doors into Old Sneddon Street. Turn left for the bus stop for the Airport bus Link.

From Platforms 2 - 3

We believe the steps to the intermediate level will be about in the middle of the train at either platform.

On platform 2, westbound, the doors towards the lift are beside the front of three car trains and beside the front half of longer ones.

On platform 3, eastbound, we believe the doors to the lift may be behind the rear of three car trains and beside the rear half of longer ones.

As you move from the rear of trains on platform 2, or front of those on platform 3, you pass the waiting room and kiosk, the steps to the intermediate level before you reach the next building housing the lift.

via Which Route?

Via the Lift

As you move towards the front of the train on platform 2, you pass the stairwell before you reach the building, go through the second door, the lift is the second door on your left.

As you move towards, or beyond, the rear of trains on platform 3, you pass the stairwell before you reach the building, go through the second door then turn right. The lift is the first door on your right.

The call button is on the left-hand side of the doorway. Go down to the low level and leave via the other doors.

For the Main Exit

Turn right and continue to the end of the passage. From here, you can go up the three steps in front of you into the ticket office and continue, through the exit into County Square. Otherwise, take the turning left, up the first slope of the ramp then turn right (180 degrees) and go up the second slope into the ticket office. Turn left then continue through the exit doors into County Square.

Via the Steps

From Platform 4

As you move from the rear of the train, you pass a help point blank door, the door to the steps then another blank door, before you reach the door to the waiting room and lift.

Via Which Route?

Via the Lift

Go into the waiting room then turn right, the lift door is in front of you with the call button to your right of the door. Go down to the lower level then leave via the other doors. You're in the ticket office.

For the Main Exit

Turn left and continue, through the doors into County Square.

For the Old Sneddon Street Exit

Turn right, take the turning right and go down the first slope of the ramp. Turn left (180 degrees) then go down the second slope, into the low level passage and turn right. Continue to the end of the passage, then through the doors onto Old Sneddon Street, turn right for the bus stop for the Airport Bus Link

The steps go down towards the front of the train, you go down three flights of steps to the intermediate level. Note that the second landing is longer than the first and that there's a gap in the central rail at this landing.
