AUTOMATIC GATES |
DESCRIBE ONLINE |
There are four automatic entrance and three automatic exit gates in this station, in the gate line which runs east/west. The right-hand gates are the ones you need.
As part of the building works in progress at this station, a row of posts (some double) has been erected along the left-hand (south) side of the booking hall. The old ticket sales office will be demolished in due course. The first two posts are outside the automatic gates, with the second (wooden) post being between the exit and entrance gates.
Note, unlike those on the London Underground, the direction of these gates is fixed and there is no ticket slot on the no-entry side. Note also that expired tickets are returned, rather than captured by the machine as you complete your journey.
