New Booking Windows

Having entered the station, follow the right-hand side. There's a gap in the hoarding, leading to a storage area which will probably become a cupboard, though at present, there's just a pillar. Beyond this, the wall retreats to a blank door and the first of four ticket sales windows. Partitions jut (south) between these windows, with a final (fourth) partition between the fourth window and the gap leading to the escalators to the eastbound mainline platform.

The first window (with a red counter) is for Subway ticket sales, the second and third will remain closed until the development of the station is complete, whilst the fourth (with a blue counter) is for Scotrail ticket sales.

Note that, as part of the building works in progress at this station, a row of pillars has been erected along the left-hand (south) side of the booking hall. The first two of these are in front of the automatic gates to the subway, the second (surrounded by wood) is between the entrance and exit gates. We suggest that, to reach the Subway, you cross the booking hall from the first sales window then turn right to locate the gates. The old ticket office is to be demolished in due course.

Subway Concessions

Holders of concessionary cards (disabled and over 60) are required to buy a 40p concession ticket, whilst blind people with passes are encouraged to collect a free ticket from the sales window. The free tickets are single journey tickets which operate the automatic gates.

For the Mainline

We noted three ticket machines, which are not accessible to vision impaired people, against the hoardings on the left-hand (south)side of the entrance, before you reach the entrance to the Subway.

The Scotrail ticket sales window is the fourth window, facing across the booking hall, on your right just before the gap towards the escalators to the eastbound platform.
