The escalator well and waiting area are covered by a plastic roof. The waiting area, at the top of the escalator contains seating, turn left from the top of the escalator, through pull doors onto the platform, you're about in the middle of three-car trains.
There's tactile paving along the edge of this platform.
Note that, as a result of the building work at this station, much of the platform furniture is behind hoardings which extend to either side of the entrance/exit.
The escalators to platform 1, eastbound, are beyond the mainline ticket sales window (go round the partiition). Leave the booking hall via the left-hand escalator.

In the middle of this space is a raised square floor with a pillar at each corner and a bench seat between each pair of pillars.
As we go west through the doors, there's a slope up onto the open platform, trains travel south. The platform curves left towards the east.
