FIND AN EXIT FROM A PLATFORM
There is step-free access from platform 1, southbound to Station Road either directly or via the ticket office. There is also step-free access from platform 2, northbound, to Armoury Road. There is stairs access between platforms via the bridge.
The doors will open on your left as you face the front of the train. There is tactile paving along the concrete section of each platform but not on the wooden section of the platform beside the front of longer southbound trains, or rear of longer northbound ones.
These directions will be limited to:
From Platform 1, Southbound|
From Platform 2, Northbound
As you go from the front of longer trains, you get out onto the wooden section of the platform. We understand the 3 car stop point is near the end of the concrete section of the platform.
You pass a series of posts, plus the historic drinking fountain, before you reach the station building. Continue, past a recess and the shop.
The wall juts out in front of you, turn right before this, go through a pull door and continue through the ticket office. Go through another pull door, turn left, go through a pull door then down the ramp onto the pavement.
GO TO END
Follow the wall, which juts out twice then retreats again, before the steps to the bridge follow the wall, to your right then left, past the phone box then turn right and continue onto the pavement.
GO TO END
As you go from the rear of the train, we understand you reach the gap to Station Road before you reach the station building. Turn left and continue onto the pavement. If you want the ticket office, we suggest it's easier to do this then turn right and go up the ramp.
GO TO END
The front of six car trains is just before the start of the path to Armoury Road. Go beyond the front of the train, following the left-hand side then follow the path to the rail at the end. Go round this rail into Armoury Road, note that the area to your right is a small car park for staff, except for two disabled persons bays beside the rail.
GO TO END
As you go from the front of the train, you pass a gravel area before the platform widens behind the steps to the bridge, which are in the middle of the wider platform. We suggest you keep right to avoid walking under these steps.
As you go from the rear of the train, you pass the waiting room before you reach the foot of the steps, in front of you.
Go up a flight of steps, turn right and go up five steps onto the bridge. Continue, down five steps, turn right and go down a flights of steps, to platform level.
Turn left, continue to the wall, then turn left and turn right beyond the phone box then continue onto the pavement. If you need the ticket office, we suggest you turn right here and go up the ramp.
