The station is reached via a covered walkway leading from the north side of Victoria Street (east/west), just east of the Reuther Hall Community Centre.
Victoria Street is the second east/west street north of the High Street, details of which lie beyond the scope of this survey, the first one being King Street. The following streets lead north from the High Street, from the west:
There are three entrances/exits onto the covered walkway, from which there is lift and stairs access to the ticket office and platforms:
As you leave the High Street, with the Town Hall on your left, turn left (north) into Castle Street and continue, across King Street, then Victoria Street. The Reuther Hall building is in front of you, turn right then take the turning left onto the walkway.
From the High Street, follow the right-hand (east) side of Queen Street across King Street, past a gated housing complex, across Moray Court (a cul de sac) then across the tracks to Newton before taking the turning right.
You go down 16 steps, going east, turn right (south) then go down 16 steps, going south. Turn left (east) then go down three steps, going east, to the path. There's a hand rail to each side of these steps.
You're now facing east along a path, which is well lit, running along the north side of the tracks to Newton. The track through the station, leading towards Glasgow Central, curves in from your left as you approach the station.
Continue, east, until you reach the foot of the steps in front of you. You go up 20 then 20 steps, going east, onto the covered walkway. There's a hand rail to each side of these steps, note, however, that the bottom step seemed higher than the rest at the time of our survey.
On reaching the walkway, turn left and follow the left-hand (west) side for the lift then steps to the ticket office.
From the High Street, follow Farmeloan Road, north across the trakcs then take the turning left. This side street appeared to be under development at the time of our survey.
Follow the left-hand side (west), to the steps in front of you. You go up a small step then 18 then 18 steps going west. Turn left (south) then go up 18 steps, going south, onto the covered walkway. There's a hand rail to each side of these steps. Follow the right-hand (west) side for the steps then lift to the ticket office.
We noted a crossing of the High Street, with sounder, a few metres west of Queen Street, which lies beyond the scope of this survey.
Except for Farmeloand Road, the roads near this station carried little traffic at the time of our survey. Note, however, that there were roadworks in progress on Queen Street at the time of our survey.
We found no bus stops within the scope of this survey, though we presume there would be bus stops on the High Street.
See the entrances and exits section, above.
