Location

The station is on the north side of Scotland Street which runs east-west at this point. Shields Road is some distance west of the station.

Entrances and Exits

The station has two entrances, one (which we'll call the south entrance) leads north from Scotland Street, the other (east entrance) leads west from the forecourt.

There’s a slight slope up from each entrance into the booking hall.

Local Road Crossings

There's a crossing of Scotland Street about 75 metres west of the station. This has no rotating cones, sounder nor tactile paving. This is a single stage crossing with a central island. The post is to your right as you cross towards the south and on both sides as you cross to the north. There are no posts with push buttons on the island.

Local Buses

We found no bus stops within the scope of this survey.

Local Features

As you move east from the crossing, there’s a row of bollards on the left-hand (north) side of the pavement, before you reach the station building which is set back from the pavement. The wall veers slightly left, before the south entrance. Following the building round north, you pass the east entrance, the door to a fish shop is in front of you.

East of the station building is the forecourt with bike racks, plant pots, etc.

The fire exit faces west from the opposite side of this area.

The Rennie McKintosh School Museum is on the south side of Scotland Street, beyond the scope of this survey.
