There is escalator access through this station:

• between the First Capital Connect platforms at Level -2 and the Level 0 Concourse
• between the Level 0 and Level 1 concourses:
• beside the Champagne Bar
• before the Midland Mainline platforms
• between the Level 0 Concourse and the HS1 platforms.

The left-hand escalator is normally the one you need, except for the east set of escalators between the Level 0 concourse and the HS1 platforms, where you used the right-hand escalator at the time of our survey.

There are downward escalators from the island platform 7 and 8, within the Eurostar restricted area.

There are two sets of escalators in the extension off the north passage of the Level 0 Concourse, leading to Level 1, outside the High Speed 1 platforms. At the time of our survey, the right-hand escalator was the one you needed for the east set, whilst for the west set, you need the left-hand escalator. There's a set of escalators between these to Level -1, the Northern Concourse of the Underground station, for which the left-hand escalator is normally the one you need.

There are escalators and stairs inside the northeast entrance, to Level -1, the Northern Concourse of the Underground station, the left-hand escalator is normally the one you need.
