The station is located on a raised viaduct some distance south of Troon town between St Meddans Street (east/west) to the north and Victoria Drive (east/west) to the south. Harling Drive runs north from Victoria Drive, east of the station, whilst Golf Crescent runs south from this junction.
There's an unnamed road (north/south) to each side of the station, between St Meddans Street and Victoria Drive, we'll call these the east and west approach roads. Each of these lies between the station itself and an extensive car park.
We understand the station is about a mile south of the ferry port. We suggest you get a taxi from the station, there's a taxi office on platform 2, 01292 311449.
There are four entrances/exits to this station, each of which provides step-free access to a platform:
A draught lobby juts west from the building with the entrance on the north side. You go through a pull door facing south. Turn left (east) then go through another pull door into the ticket office. The sales window is on your right, whilst the push door to platform 1 is in front of you.
We found no pedestrian controlled crossings within the scope of this survey. Although there was significant traffic along Victoria Drive and St Meddans Street at the time of our survey, these roads can be crossed with due care.
Bus Stop 6190449 on the north side of St Meddans Street, under the rail bridge. Troon St Meddans Street/Henderson Road, serves:
