Lines Served

This is a through station on the line between Glasgow Central, Ayr and Stranraer.

Layout

The tracks run approximately north/south between separate platforms with platform 1, serving northbound trains towards Kilwinning, Paisley and Glasgow, lying west of platform 2, serving southbound trains toward Ayr and Stranraer.

The main building, including the ticket office and toilets is on platform 1, whilst there is a waiting area and bike storage on platform 2. A bridge, currently in the northern half of the station, provides stairs access between platforms.

We understood that the platforms were being extended to the north at the time of our survey.

Accessibility

There is step-free access to each platform and stairs access between platforms via the bridge. We therefore believe this station is accessible to Guide Dog and wheelchair users.
