GO TO END

The directions given in this page are in line with the general "keep left" instructions throughout this station.

We suggest that you get off near the rear of eastbound trains (towards Waterloo), or
Near the front of westbound trains (towards Kingston, Reading and Shepperton)
to make it easy to find the main bridge. We noted that it was possible to walk underneath the stairs to the east bridge (mind your head!) and that the metal fence between platforms 2 and 3 did not go beyond the east bridge at the time of our survey.

From Which Platform?

From Platforms 1 - 3

Platforms 1 and 2 are terminus platforms which are not normally used. We presume they may be used when larger numbers than normal are using the station, during Rugby matches. We presume that, in this case, the metal fence between platforms 2 and 3 would be removed, making the island platform 2 - 3 fully available. Platform 1 is between the track and the car park; you can cross to the island platform beyond the end of the tracks, i.e. beyond the front of the train and turn right towards the main bridge.

From platform 3, go to the front of the train and continue for about 25 metres. Go up two flights of steps onto the bridge.

For the south exit, turn left and continue up the slope to London Road.
For the main exit, cross the passage, through the gap in the central barrier and turn right. Continue to the gates. The manual gate is to your left and the automatic exits are in front of you. Go through the gates, then through the exit doors, which are to your left. You're on the pavement of the vehicle access lay-by off London Road.

From Platforms 4 - 5

From platform 4, eastbound, go to the rear of the train.
From platform 5, westbound, go to the front of the train.
