The Sidlaw Auditorium

Overview

This is the west of the two small Auditoria at Level 3.

The stage is fixed (about south) inside the middle segment of the West Passage, whilst the seating can rotate through 180 degrees to join that of the Pentland Auditorium.

Whilst this is a separate auditorium, there is level access from the Link Passage to two wheelchair spaces at Row M, in front of the stage. There is also stairs access from Door 3, in the West Passage.

When this is joined to the Pentland Auditorium, there is no level access into this section. There is still the stairs access from Door 3, whilst lower level access is via the Pentland Auditorium.

To Reach

Via the Main (VIP) Lift

Leave the lift then bear right through either pull door, into the West Passage.

For level access, cross the passage then go through the pull double doors into the Link Passage. Turn left then go through the pull double doors into the Sidlaw Auditorium. There are two wheelchair spaces here, at Row M, the stage is to your left.

For stairs access, turn left then go through the pull double doors into the middle segment of the passage. Continue to Door 3, on your right. Go through this pull door, up ten steps then turn left and go through the pull door into the Auditorium. Row V is in front of you. If this is being used as a separate auditorium, the stage is to your right, otherwise the stage of the Pentland Auditorium is to your left.

Via the Escalators or Main Stairs

From the top of the escalator, turn left, or from the top of the stairs turn right into the Pentland Foyer. The steps up towards the South Doors are in front of you with the step-free doors towards the Sidlaw Auditorium to your left of these.

If the Sidlaw is being used as a separate auditorium, you can go through these pull doors, cross the Link Passage, then go through the pull double doors in front of you, into the Sidlaw Auditorium. You're beside Row M, the stage is to your left.

For the stairs access via Door 3, turn left and go through the push double doors into the West Passage. Continue through the pull double doors into the middle segment. Find door 3 on your right, go through this pull door. Continue, up ten steps then go through the pull door on your left, into the Sidlaw Auditorium. You're beside Row V. If this is being used as a separate auditorium, the stage is to your right, otherwise, the stage of the Pentland Auditorium is to your left.

Layout

The seating is arranged in rows, M through Y, going up one step per row as you move away from the stage. There are two wheelchair spaces at the left-hand end of Row M, which are only available whilst this is being used as a separate auditorium. There's a staff-only door in the back wall.

Each seat has a fold-away writing table.
