Greenock bus station covers a rectangular area. The two shorter sides of the rectangle have two access roads these are Hastie Street to the north and Inverkip Street to the south.
On the longer east side Kilblain Street is a pub (The Horseshoe), toilets, the travel centre and a row of shops which include a laundrette, ladbrokes, newsagents and takeaway.
There is a central island that can be crossed safely from opposite the travel centre. Stances 1-4 are located here under a covered walkway.
On the west side, crossing from the island are stances 5-8, also under a covered walkway. To the rear of this is a large B&M store.
All 8 stances have talking help points and are located in two covered walkways with bench seating opposite the audio units. Stances 1-4 are located on the left hand side when walking from the safest crossing point which is at the top of Kilblain Street with your back to the travel centre. Stances 5-8 have audio units located on the left hand side walking south from our recommended crossing point.
When facing the audio units for stances 1-4 there is a Braille label below waist height with a large round yellow button with a speaker next to it.
On stances 1-4 all buttons are located on the left. Stances 5-8 buttons are located on the right.
At the time of our survey, 30 January 2017, all points were providing information as to stance, next departure and current time.
