This is a through station on the DLR between Bank, Tower Gateway and Stratford in the north to Lewisham in the south.
This station is an integral part of a large shopping and office complex which also includes Canary Wharf Underground Station. The DLR station itself is established on two levels, Platform Level, 1 and Ticket Hall Level 0.
The tracks run approximately north/south serving six platforms which are numbered 1 to 6 from the east.
We include the following statement from Transport for London, as an indication of platform usage:
Platforms 1 - 2 serve trains to Lewisham, platforms 3 - 4 serve trains to Stratford and platforms 5 - 6 are trains to Bank (they may sometimes serve Tower Gateway, but usually a change is needed).
This may change at certain times of day/weekends and during the Olympics. If the destination is not shown, customers can usually change at Shadwell or Poplar for their final destination.
The entrance steps from the Ticket Hall to each platform are near the north end, whilst the exit steps are near the south. The lifts to/from platforms 2 - 3 and 4 - 5 are near the north ends of these platforms.
In addition, there are lift and escalator routes between platforms 1 and 6 and Level 0. We suggest you use the lifts as these may be easier to find, you can also carry on to Level -1 via these lifts.
This level includes the Ticket Hall, which is a rectangular space with steps and escalators to the platforms on the north side and steps and escalators from the platforms on the south. Note that escalators to/from platforms 1 and 6 are in the shopping malls, see the Environs page for details.
The lifts to platforms 2 - 3 and 4 - 5 are outside the North Entrance.
There is lift access throughout this station. We therefore believe the station is accessible to Guide Dog and Wheelchair users.
