Overview

There is lift, stairs and escalator access between platforms 3 - 4, DLR and 5 - 6, Jubilee Line and the Main Concourse. There is lift and stairs access between platforms 1 - 2, DLR and the Main Concourse.

The doors will open on your right as you face the front of the train. There is tactile paving along the edge of each platform.

From Which Platform?

  From Platforms 1 - 2, DLR
From Platforms 3 - 4, DLR
From Platforms 5 - 6, Jubilee Line

From Platforms 1 - 2, DLR

As you go from the front of the train on platform 1, or rear of the train on platform 2, you pass the south steps to the Main Concourse, the next gap leads to the lift, whilst the third leads to the north steps, nearer the gate line.

As you go from the rear of the train on platform 1, or front of the train on platform 2, you move away from the north steps to the Main Concourse nearer the gate line, the next gap leads to the lift, whilst the third is the south steps to the Main Concourse.

We'll limit these directions to routes via the south steps and lift.

Via the Steps

Move towards the front of the train (platform 1) or rear of the train (platform 2) and go into the last gap between platforms. Continue, in the opposite direction, down two flights of steps, bear left then go down another flight into the Main Concourse.

Turn left then left again and continue to the wall in front of you. Turn right then take the turning left to the steps to platforms 5 - 6, Jubilee Line.

These steps are divided by a central rail, we understand you're asked to keep left. Go up three flights of steps to platforms 5 - 6, Jubilee Line. Platform 5, serving trains towards Stanmore is to your left, we believe you're beside the front half of the train. Platform 6, serving trains towards Stratford is to your right, we believe you're beside the rear half of the train.

For Platforms 3 - 4, DLR, turn back (180 degrees) and continue to the next gap between platforms. You need to turn back again, within this gap, to the steps between escalators 1 - 2. You then go up two flights of steps to platforms 3 - 4, DLR. Platform 3, serving trains towards Beckton or Woolwich Arsenal is to your left, we believe you're beside the front half of the train. Platform 4, serving trains toward Bank or Tower Gateway is to your right, we believe you're beside the rear half of the train.

Via the Lift

The middle gap between the platforms leads to the lift, this is to your right as you move away from platform 1 (or left as you move away from platform 2). The call button is to your left of the door, go down to Level -1, Concourse, leave via the same door and turn right.

Take the turning right then turn left across the foot of escalators 7 - 8, to your left. turn left again then take the turning left towards the lift.

For Platforms 3 - 4, DLR

The lift is to your left, the call button is to your right of the door. Go up to level D (DLR) and leave via the same door. Platform 3, for trains towards Beckton or Woolwich Arsenal is to your left, we believe you're about in the middle of the train. Platform 4, for trains towards Bank or Tower Gateway is to your right, we believe you're about in the middle of the train.

For Platforms 5 - 6, Jubilee Line

The lift is to your left, the call button is to your right of the door. Go up to level J (Jubilee Line) and leave via the same door. Platform 5, for trains towards Stanmore is to your left, we believe you're beside the rear half of the train. Platform 6, serving trains towards Stratford is to your right, we believe you're beside the front half of the train.

From Platforms 3 - 4, DLR

As you go away from the front of the train on platform 3 (or rear of the train on platform 4), you leave the emergency exirt behind you. The next gap is to escalators 1 - 2, the second is to escalators 3 - 4, whilst the third is to the lift.

As you go away from the rear of the train on platform 3 (or front of the train on platform 4), you pass the gap to the lift. The next gap is to escalators 3 - 4, whilst the third is to escalators 1 - 2.

Note that escalators 1 - 2 lead directly to the top of escalators 5 - 6 to the Main Concourse, whilst escalators 3 - 4 lead you opposite the lift on platforms 5 - 6, escalators 7 - 8 are in the next gap, behind the lift.

Via the Steps

Locate escalators 1 - 2 as described above and go down the central stairs. You go down two flights of steps onto platforms 5 - 6. Platform 5, serving trains towards Stanmore is on your right, we believe you're beside the front half of the train. Platform 6, serving trains towards Stratford is to your left, we believe you're beside the rear half of the train.

For Platforms 1 - 2, DLR

Turn back and go into the first gap, to the steps to the Main Concourse. Turn back again, go down three flights of steps then turn right. Take the turning left then take the turning right and turn right again towards the steps.

You go up a flight of steps, bear right then go up two flights of steps onto platform 1 - 2. Platform 1, serving trains Towards Beckton is to your left, we believe you're beside the front half of the train. Platform 2, serving trains towards Bank or Tower Gateway is to your right, we believe you're beside the rear half of the train.

Via the Escalators

Locate escalators 1 - 2, as described above. The left-hand escalator is normally the one you need. Go down to platforms 5 - 6, Jubilee Line. Platform 5, serving trains towards Stanmore is to your right, we believe you're about in the middle of the train. Platform 6, serving trains towards Stratford is to your left, we believe you're about in the middle of the train.

For Platforms 1 - 2, DLR

There's no escalator access to these platforms, we suggest you follow the stairs route described above.

Via the Lift

Locate the lift, as described above. The call button is to your right of the door.

For Platforms 5 - 6, Jubilee Line

Go down to Level "J", Jubilee Line and leave via the same door. Platform 5, serving trains towards Stanmore is to your left, we believe you're beside the rear half of the train. Platform 6, serving trains towards Stratford is to your right, we believe you're beside the front half of the train.

For Platforms 1 - 2, DLR

Go down to level "T", Ticket Hall or Main Concourse. Leave via the same door, turn right then take the turning right and continue towards the gate line. Turn right before the gates, across the foot of escalators 7 - 8 then take the turning right. Take the turning left then find the lift door on your left. The call button is to your left of the door. Go up to platform level and leave via the same door. Platform 1, serving trains towards Beckton is to your left, we believe you're beside the rear half of the train. Platform 2, serving trains towards Bank or Tower Gateway is to your right, we believe you're beside the front half of the train.

From Platforms 5 - 6, Jubilee Line

As you go from the front of the train on platform 5 (or rear of the train on platform 6) you leave the emergency exit behind you. The next gap leads to the gap to the spiral stairs from platforms 3 - 4, the second to the steps to the Main Concourse, the third gap leads to escalators 1 - 2 from platforms 3 - 4 and escalators 5 - 6 to the Main Concourse. Beyond this, the next gap is to escalators 3 - 4 from platforms 3 - 4 and the lift, whilst the final gap leads to escalators 7 - 8 to the Main Concourse

As you go from the rear of the train on platform 5 (or the front of the train on platform 6), the first gap is to escalators 7 - 8 to the Main concourse, whilst the second leads to the lift and escalators 3 - 4 from platforms 3 - 4. Beyond this, the next gap leads to escalators 5 - 6 to the Main Concourse and escalators 1 - 2 from platforms 3 - 4, whilst the next gap leads to the steps to the Main Concourse.

Note that there are no central steps between escalators 5 - 6 or 7 - 8.

To Platforms 1 - 2, DLR

There is no escalator access to these platforms. We'll therefore limit these directions to the stairs and lift routes.

Via the Steps

Locate the gap to the steps, as described above and go down three flights of steps to the Main Concourse. Turn right then take the turning left and take the turning right towards the steps.

You go up a flight of steps, bear right then go up two flights of steps onto platform 1 - 2. Platform 1, serving trains Towards Beckton is to your left, we believe you're beside the front half of the train. Platform 2, serving trains towards Bank or Tower Gateway is to your right, we believe you're beside the rear half of the train.

Via the Lifts

Locate the lift, as described above. The call buttons (Up and Down) are to your right of the door. Go down to level "T", Ticket Hall or Main Concourse. Leave via the same door, turn right then take the turning right and continue towards the gate line. Turn right before the gates, across the foot of escalators 7 - 8 then take the turning right. Take the turning left then find the lift door on your left. The call button is to your left of the door. Go up to platform level and leave via the same door. Platform 1, serving trains towards Beckton is to your left, we believe you're beside the rear half of the train. Platform 2, serving trains towards Bank or Tower Gateway is to your right, we believe you're beside the front half of the train.

To Platforms 3 - 4, DLR

There is stairs, escalator and lift access to these platforms. You can use either escalators 1 - 2 or 3 - 4, each of which has central stairs.

Via Escalators 1 - 2

Locate escalators 1 - 2, as described above. the left-hand escalator is normally the one you need, or you can go up two flights of steps. Go up to platforms 3 - 4. Platform 3, serving trains towards Beckton or Woolwich Arsenal is to your left, we believe you're beside the front half of the train. Platform 4, serving trains towards Bank or Tower Gateway is to your right, we believe you're beside the rear half of the train.
