From Which Platform?

  From Platforms 1 - 2, DLR
From Platforms 3 - 4, DLR
From Platforms 5 - 6, Jubilee Line

From Platforms 1 - 2, DLR

As you go from the front of the train on platform 1, or rear of the train on platform 2, you pass the south steps to the Main Concourse, the next gap leads to the lift, whilst the third leads to the north steps, nearer the gate line.

As you go from the rear of the train on platform 1, or front of the train on platform 2, you move away from the north steps to the Main Concourse nearer the gate line, the next gap leads to the lift, whilst the third is the south steps to the Main Concourse.

We'll limit these directions to routes via the north steps and lift.

Via the Steps

Move towards the rear of the train (platform 1) or front of the train (platform 2) and go into the last gap between platforms. Continue, in the same direction, down three flights of steps into the Main Concourse. Continue through the gates.

Via the Lift

The middle gap between the platforms leads to the lift, this is to your right as you move away from platform 1 (or left as you move away from platform 2). The call button is to your left of the door, go down to Level -1, Concourse, leave via the same door and turn right. Take the turning right and continue towards the gate line in front of you. Continue through the gates.

From Platforms 3 - 4, DLR

As you go away from the front of the train on platform 3 (or rear of the train on platform 4), you leave the emergency exirt behind you. The next gap is to escalators 1 - 2, the second is to escalators 3 - 4, whilst the third is to the lift.

As you go away from the rear of the train on platform 3 (or front of the train on platform 4), you pass the gap to the lift. The next gap is to escalators 3 - 4, whilst the third is to escalators 1 - 2.

Note that escalators 1 - 2 lead directly to the top of escalators 5 - 6 to the Main Concourse, whilst escalators 3 - 4 lead you opposite the lift on platforms 5 - 6, escalators 7 - 8 are in the next gap, behind the lift. We'll therefore limit these directions to include steps or escalators 1 - 2 plus the lift.

Via the Steps

Locate escalators 1 - 2 as described above and go down the central stairs. You go down two flights of steps onto platforms 5 - 6. Turn back and go into the first gap, to the steps to the Main Concourse. Turn back again, go down three flights of steps then turn left, take the turning right and continue, past the turning right towards the lift and escalators 5 - 6, towards the gate line. Continue through the gates.

Via the Escalators

Locate escalators 1 - 2, as described above. The left-hand escalator is normally the one you need. Go down to platforms 5 - 6 and continue down escalators 5 - 6, in front of you. Again, the left-hand escalator is normally the one you need. Turn left, take the turning right and continue towards the gate line. Continue through the gates

The next gap leads to the gap to the spiral stairs from platforms 3 - 4, the second to the steps to the Main Concourse, the third gap leads to escalators 1 - 2 from platforms 3 - 4 and escalators 5 - 6 to the Main Concourse. Beyond this, the next gap is to escalators 3 - 4 from platforms 3 - 4 and the lift, whilst the final gap leads to escalators 7 - 8 to the Main Concourse

As you go from the rear of the train on platform 5 (or the front of the train on platform 6), the first gap is to escalators 7 - 8 to the Main Concourse, whilst the second leads to the lift and escalators 3 - 4 from platforms 3 - 4. Beyond this, the next gap leads to escalators 5 - 6 to the Main Concourse and escalators 1 - 2 from platforms 3 - 4, whilst the next gap leads to the steps to the Main Concourse.

Note that there are no central steps between escalators 5 - 6 or 7 - 8. We'll limit these directions to the steps, escalators 7 - 8 and the lift, which offer the easiest routes into the Main Concourse.
