Overview

There's stairs and lift access between Victoria Dock Road, the ExCeL Centre and the east end of the platforms, however, there is stairs-only access to the west end of the platforms.

As we see no special benefit from going to the west end, as opposed to the east end of these short platforms, these directions are confined to routes to the east end of the platforms.

From Victoria Dock Road Via Lift

Go through the right-hand side of the gap in the wall, turn right and go up the ramp to landing level. turn left, continue to the wall in front of you then turn left. You pass barriers then cycle racks on your left, before you reach the turning left towards the lift.

Take this turning left, then turn right after a couple of metres, the lift should be in front of you, with the call button to your right of the door. Go up to footbridge (walkway) level.

Leave the lift, turn left and follow the left-hand side which turns right then left again. You pass an Oyster card reader and two ticket machines on your left before you reach the lift to the platform, on your left.

Again, the call button is to your right of the door as you face the lift, go down to platform level, leave the lift and continue to the end of the passage. Platform 3, eastbound is to your right, you're at the front of the train. Platform 4, westbound, is to your left, you're at the rear.

From Victoria Dock Road Via Stairs

Go through the right-hand section of the gap in the wall, turn right and go up the ramp to landing level.

Turn left (180 degrees) and go up two flights of steps to the walkway then turn right. Follow the right-hand side, which turns right then left again, before you find the top of the stairs on your right.

Go down two flights of steps to platform level and continue out of the short passage, onto the platform. Platform 3, eastbound, is to your right, you're at the front of the train. Platform 4, westbound is to your left, you're at the rear.

From the ExCeL Centre Via Lift

Leave the Centre via the west entrance, continue forward a couple of metres to avoid the post which lean into the walkway, before turning right. Continue, straight along this walkway untill you reach the T-junction at the end. There are two ticket machines and an Oyster card reader to either side of these, in front of you. turn right, continue down the ramp, to the wall in front of you then turn left. Follow the right-hand side and locate the lift on your right. The call button is to your right of the door as you face the lift. Go down to platform level.

Leave the lift and continue along the short passage, onto the platform. Platform 3, eastbound, is to your right, you're at the front of the train. Platform 4, westbound is to your left, you're at the rear.

Note, you can continue along the walkway, beyond the first lift. The walkway turns right then left again before you reach the lift towards Victoria Dock Road on your right.

From the ExCeL Centre Via Stairs
