This is a through station on the London Underground (Circle, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan) and First Capital Connect (FCC) lines. This station offers a much simpler connection between the London Underground and FCC services than does Kings Cross St Pancras.

Layout

The lines run approximately east/west serving four separate platforms, numbered, from north to south, as follows

• 1 - London Underground, eastbound towards Liverpool Street
• 2 - London Underground, westbound, towards Kings Cross
• 3 - FCC, southbound, towards East Croydon (trains run east)
• 4 - FCC, northbound, towards Luton (trains run west).

The FCC platforms lie approx 1.5 metres lower than those of the London Underground.

The concourse is located on a bridge across both lines towards the east end of the station. Another bridge joins all platforms near the west end. Four sets of stairs join the Westbound London Underground, platform 2 to the Southbound FCC, platform 3.

Note that there are stairs and a slope from platform 1 which are not intended for public use.

We understand that people are expected to circulate anti-clockwise through the station - keep right.

• There are three sets of stairs between platform 1 and the concourse. The one in line with the platform is the entrance, whilst the other two, offset into passages from the platform, are exits.
• The right hand side of the middle stairs from the concourse is the entrance to platforms 2 and 3, whilst the left hand side is the way out. To reach platform 3, you should move along platform 2 and go down the stairs in the second gap in the wall.
• When changing from platform 2 to 3 near the west bridge, you should go down the stairs nearest the bridge onto platform 3.
• When changing from platform 3 to 2 near the west bridge, you should go up the set of stairs which lead away from the bridge, onto platform 2.

• The right-hand set of the stairs from the concourse to platform 4 is the entrance, whilst the left-hand set is the exit.

Accessibility

there is stairs-only and no step-free access throughout this station. We therefore believe the station is accessible to Guide Dog users, but not to wheelchairs.
