THE MAINLINE PLATFORMS

Overview

This section describes three island platforms which run north/south. The platforms are numbered 1 to 6, from east to west. Note this is the opposite direction to that of the Underground station.

At the time of our survey, platforms 1 - 2 served southbound trains to King's Cross or Moorgate, whilst platforms 5 - 6 served northbound trains to Welwyn and Cambridge. Platforms 3 - 4 are little used and through trains can pass through at high speed.

There is no tactile paving along the edge of these platforms.

To Reach

Each island platform is reached via two flights of steps from the intermediate level, you arrive about in the middle of the platform.

To platforms 1 - 2, go up 14 then 12 steps, going south.
To platforms 3 - 4, go up 13 then 13 steps, going south.
To platforms 5 - 6, go up 13 then 14 steps, going south.
