Overview

This is an island platform from which trains run south from this station. The Piccadilly Line, platform 3, lying west of platform 4, is designated westbound, whilst the Victoria Line, on platform 4 is southbound.

There are six passages between the platforms, from the front of the train, these are:

• entrance/exit, Underground
• passage through
• entrance/exit, Underground
• passage through
• entrance/exit, mainline
• passage through

For the Underground station, the intention to have people keeping to the left will determine which passage is entrance or exit according to where you've come from. If you arrive via the Seven Sisters Road or Wells Terrace entrance, you'll arrive in the third passage from the front, whilst if you arrive from the Station Place entrance you'll be in the passage nearest the front of the trains.

Similarly, on leaving the platform, if you're going to the Station Place exit, you should leave via the third passage from the front, whilst you should leave via the passage nearest the front of the trains for the other exits.

At the time of our survey, we found people broadly sticking to this rule.

The route to/from the mainline station is the second passage from the rear of the train.

There is no tactile paving along the edge of these platforms.

To Reach

From the Station Place Entrance

From the passage, using the left-hand steps, go down 17 then 19 steps, going south to platform level. Platform 3, Piccadilly Line, westbound is to your right, platform 4, Victoria Line southbound, is to your left, you're at the front of the train.

From the Seven Sisters Road or Wells Terrace Entrance

Turn left from the passage, there's an assistance window to your left before you reach the top of the steps. Using the left-hand steps, go down 16 then 16 steps, going north, to platform level. Platform 3, Piccadilly Line is to your left, whilst platform 4, Victoria Line is to your right. You're about in the middle of the train.

From the Mainline Station

From the intermediate level, go down three flights of 17 steps, spiralling anti-clockwise to platform level. At the foot of the steps, platform 3, Piccadilly Line is to your left, whilst platform 4, Victoria Line is to your right. You're beside the rear half of the train.

To Leave

For the Station Place exit

Take the third passage from the front of the train, turn towards the front of the train and, using the left-hand steps, go up 16 then 16 steps, going north. There's an assistance window on your right before you reach the passage. Turn left towards the Station Place exit.

For the Seven sisters Road or Wells Terrace Exit

Take the passage nearest the front of the train, turn towards the rear of the train and, using the left-hand steps, go up 19 then 17 steps, going north, to the passage. Turn left and continue to the T-junction. Turn left for the Seven Sisters Road, or right for the Wells Terrace exit.

To the Mainline Station

Take the second passage from the front of the train, turn towards the front of the train and go up three flights of 17 steps, spiralling clockwise to the intermediate level.
