THE LIFTS

Describe Online

Overview

There are five lifts in this station, providing lift access to all platforms.

Lift A, Between Piccadilly South and the Concourse

At Street Level

The lift is on the south side of Piccadilly, between the stairs exit (east) and bus stop H (west). The call button (down) is to your right (north) of the door. You go in facing west.

At Concourse Level

The lift is on the right-hand (west) side of the south entrance, as you leave the station. The call button (Up) is to your right (north) of the door.

Inside the Lift

There are clear, spoken announcements. The control panel is on the right-hand (north) side of the lift as you go in, with buttons arranged in three rows:

Lifts B and C, Between the Concourse, Victoria Line and Intermediate Level

There are two lifts, Lift B is south of Lift C. At the time of our survey, Lift C was under staff control, though we believe this is only temporary.

At Concourse Level -1

The lifts are on the left-hand (east) side of the area to your right (west) of the escalators to the Victoria Line.

The call button (down) is to your left of Lift C, whilst that for Lift B is to your right. You go in facing east.

At Level -2, Victoria Line

The lifts are on the west side of the passage leading south from the entrance steps at the north end of the island platform. The call buttons (Up and Down) are to your left of Lift B and right of Lift C. You go in facing west.

There's a help point opposite these lifts.

At Level -3, Intermediate Level

The lifts are on the west side of the passage from the exit stairs to the Piccadilly Line and passage 2, just before the foot of the steps. The call button (up) is to your left of Lift B and right of Lift C.

Inside the Lifts

There are clear spoken announcements. There's a control panel on each side, with buttons arranged in four rows:

Lift E, Between the Jubilee Line and Intermediate Level

At platform level, the lift is on the southeast side of the second passage from the rear of the westbound (front of the eastbound) train. The control button is to your right as you face the door, you enter facing southeast, note that you have to walk a few metres beyond the outer door to reach the lift.

At the intermediate level, the lift is in the passage, beside the steps down to the Jubilee Line. The control button, down only, is to your right as you face the door, you enter facing northwest.
