Overview

There are ten entrances to this station which we can consider in two groups - those entering the Western and Tube concourses and those which enter the Northern Concourse. The first group includes the two entrances from Euston Road South, the three entrances into the Western Concourse, the entrance from the forecourt of King's Cross Mainline and the new entrance from the mainline concourse. The second group includes the new entrances from the King's Cross Suburban and St Pancras stations. The passage from the Pentonville Road entrance becomes the Level -2 passage from the Northern Concourse.

Except for the route from the main concourse of King's Cross Mainline Station, the routes from the first group of entrances is little changed, except for the addition of lift access to the Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines. The route from the concourse of King's Cross Mainline Station provides stairs and lift access to the Level -1 passage.

The second group introduces new routes through the Northern concourse, including lift access between the mainline stations and the Piccadilly and Victoria lines. Note that lift access to the Northern Line is via the Tube Concourse.

The Northern Concourse is being designated as the main ticket hall, though the other concourses will remain open.

As you'd expect most of the routes have sections in common, however, I think the complexity of this station requires us to describe the routes from each entrance in their entirety rather than have you following links to bits of routes which would add confusion rather than clarity. This makes this and the other way finding pages rather large, but hopefully simple to follow.

Via the Lift

Lift A, between levels 1 and -1 is in the northeast entrance to your right, inside the doors if you come in via the step-free route from Pancras Road. Go down to Level -1, leave via the same doors and continue following the passage into the Northern Concourse. From here you can follow the directions to the platforms.

Via the Escalators or Stairs

From the upper level, Level 1, you can go down either set of escalators opposite the gate line for the HS1 services from platforms 11 - 13. If you use the right-hand set of escalators, the left-hand escalator is normally the one you need, whilst at the time of our survey, if you use the left-hand set of escalators, the right-hand escalator was the one you needed. At Level 0, the top of the escalators to Level -1 is between the feet of the escalators from Level 1, so turn accordingly, the left-hand escalator is normally the one you need.

From Level 0, you can use the escalator and stairs which are just inside the northeast entrance to the station. The left-hand escalator is normally the one you need. The stairs are outside the escalators, using the left-hand set of steps, you go down three flights to Level -1.
